The songwriting process began with an insightful conversation with historian and activist Stella Dadzie, who explored the impact of Black women’s contributions to history, culture, and social change. This conversation inspired the participants to think broadly about their position in the world as Stella Dadzie reminded them of the power they hold in shaping the direction and future of our society.

After sharing their own stories and perspectives, the group felt both moved and eager to make a statement using their creativity. As such, their song became a powerful statement—blending history with modern electronic music.
